Specialist promotional folder for the Specialist Transport Group
STG (Specialist Transport Group) needed a versatile and cost effective way of communicating their services to their customers. It was also important that the finished article fitted into a C5 envelope to keep mailing costs down.
With 5 key services to promote, Admiral set about designing a piece that would engage and clearly display the services on offer. After talks with the customer, it was clear that the service areas would be subject to change in the future.
A simple colour coded system formed part of high specification A5 laminated folder design. The folder presents a series of 5 stepped 4pp brochures that are neatly contained within a custom shaped pocket, each with a unique “service colour” to help the customer find what they want.
The series of stepped inserts had to fit snuggly into the pocket of the folder, otherwise with too much movement the inserts would shuffle about and look untidy. Admiral were able to tailor the width of the folders pocket for the perfect fit – a mock-up was essential for this.
Admiral’s folder proposal took into account mailing costs and they presented their ideas with a complementary mock-up for approval. Jan Deacon, designer at Admiral commented “a mock-up will give you peace of mind, especially when a project involves die cutting, creasing and hand finishing. It also gives you the opportunity to have the piece weighed so that you can work out your mailing costs, and adjust if needed. Because we have in-house digital printing the customer was able to get a very good idea of the colour scheme and weight before committing to the print run.

Let’s talk . . . then create.
The ‘final product’ (folder) has well exceeded my expectations and I am confident that, once we get the distribution under way, it will have the desired effect.
