This year marks the 75th Anniversary of the Guild of Mercers’ Scholars.
We were delighted to be asked to produce their commemorative Anniversary brochures. The brochures will be given out to guests attending an evening of celebration at Barnards Inn, London.
This informative brochure, comprising of 16 pages of text and 4 page cover, guides the reader through the origins and history of the Guild.
Choosing materials for the brochure
We specified a smooth red board for the covers, manufactured by Italian paper makers, Fedrigoni – a material that was specifically chosen to hold the beautiful detail in the The Guild’s logo after foil blocking. I think you will agree, that the foiling, as seen in our blog image, gives a premium feel to the brochure and befits such a special occasion.
The inside pages have been printed on a silk paper, to complement and contrast with the covers, whilst bringing out the best in the photographs from past and present.
If you like the idea of using a combination of materials on your next brochure, we can help by organising samples or an unprinted mock-up – it’s all part of the service!
Combine foil blocking with your printing for a premium look and feel
Foil blocking will look its best if you consider the detail within the image you want to foil and the size you need to publish at. There are many different paper options that you can foil onto; gloss, silk, uncoated, textured etc, in a variety of different weights. It’s worth noting that you can get varying results across these options, so you need a printer that can help you understand what’s possible.
Other finishes that can enhance a brochure
There are so many, but my favourites are; soft touch laminating, embossing and spot UV varnishing. Do any of these sound interesting to you? If so, we’ve got a sample waiting to be sent to you, to impress you. Just give us a call.
If you are based locally, in Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby or Northampton, we are more than happy to drop by and discuss your project with you.
