The humble envelope – just packaging? Far from it. Envelopes are the perfect avenue to get creative, and hence, get noticed. They will reinforce your identity and therefore boost your customer response. Our dedicated design team provides a great service to help you achieve your goals, but why not start here, with our blog that highlights a few things definitely worth considering when thinking about envelope design and production.
Brighter the better? Not always, but getting noticed amongst a pile of dismal looking post can’t be a bad thing. Keep your company branding in mind though – although fuchsia might seem like a great idea, if it doesn’t match your image then best to steer clear. That doesn’t necessarily mean you need to play it safe with your envelope style, just consider first impressions. And don’t neglect the possibility of patterns, borders, and images; you don’t need to confine yourself to just your company logo.
Company name, slogans, catch phrases and call to actions are all possibilities that could help your envelope stand out, but best to err on the side of caution and not to get carried away. Keep in mind there’s a whole letter inside brimming with information, so short and sweet is probably best.
Size and shape
With so many variations in size and shape it can be difficult to know where to start. Commercial, booklet and catalogue are all options to choose from when it comes to envelope shape and size. You’ll need to consider the amount of information inside as to which size is the most appropriate, and probably steer clear of square or A-style options which tend to be associated more with announcements or invitations than with business.
And when it comes to the type of postage, don’t worry, we’ve got that covered, all you need to do is ask. We design and print freepost envelopes, mailsort envelopes, and we can prepare your envelope artwork to meet the required specification for a Royal Mail licence.
